DESCRIPTION:A 2-day hackathon marking the culmination of the Twin it! Part II campaign on 3D by the Europeana Initiative and the European Commission. \nAbout\nThe hackathon\, taking place on May 27 and 28\, has a pan-European focus\, connecting culture across borders via 3D digital heritage. Supporting the Twin it! Part II focus on reuse\, it will encourage the creative reuse of 3D assets from across Europe collected through the campaign. \nIt will bring together school groups and teachers in one track and heritage and tourism professionals\, students\, creatives\, and researchers in a second track. \nJoin us in person for a two day hackathon at the Cyprus University of Technology to explore and innovate with 3D digital cultural heritage from the Twin it! Part II campaign. Organised by the Europeana Initiative and the European Commission within Twin it! Part II\, under the Cypriot Presidency and in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus\, with the support of the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage of the Cyprus University of Technology. \nWhat to expect?\nWorking in teams you will focus on presenting solutions for challenges such as: sustainable tourism\, heritage preservation\, technological innovation\, research and education. Projects can focus on how heritage (both tangible and intangible) can bridge across borders\, celebrate culture at EU as well as at the national\, regional and local levels. \nProjects could take – but are not limited to – one of the following formats: data visualisation/exploration\, a VR/AR/XR experience\, a game\, a tour or guide\, an app\, or other creative outputs. DESCRIPTION:About the Conference\nThe 2026 International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) Annual Conference will be held in the Netherlands June 1–4\, 2026\, and will be hosted by the IIIF Consortium with support from the Dutch Digital Heritage Network. \nThis event is intended for a wide range of participants and interested parties\, including digital image repository managers\, content curators\, software developers\, scholars\, and administrators at libraries\, museums\, cultural heritage institutions\, software firms\, and other organizations working with digital images and audio/visual materials. \nIn addition to the Conference\, held June 2 and 3\, the event includes a free Showcase on June 1. The Showcase is meant to introduce newcomers to IIIF\, and those seeking to learn how IIIF is used in a variety of contexts.
